The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1)

I was in love with this book from the second I read the synopsis. And the book did not disappoint! The twists were breathtaking and shocking and masterful.

Jude is possibly my favourite heroine of all time. She is conflicted, driven, ambitious and basically bad-ass. Her incessant need to belong, to become a necessary and vital part of the court in which she was forced into as a child is the foundation of which all her actions are based on. Yet, unlike the usual conflicted lead, Jude is essentially fighting against her humanity and guilt, literally turning herself into the predators she shares a home with.

Cardan and Jude’s relationship is everything I have ever needed or wanted in a book. Cardan is cruel, spoiled, with a sense of self-entitlement. Jude and him clash and fight with a passion that is stronger than love or hate. It’s so unique. Cardan is at mercy to Jude’s inner fire. It’s almost amusing to read.

So glad I read this, I need The Wicked King now before I start to get withdrawal symptoms!
